Could your group win the 2026 Battle of the Uke Bands?

The Battle of the Uke Bands is part of Belfast Ukulele Festival, taking place 14–16 August 2026, and we’re planning to make it bigger and better than ever.

This isn’t just a competition — it’s a festival experience designed to bring ukulele groups together.

What is the Battle?

Ukulele groups perform a short set in front of a festival audience on a dedicated stage. Judges (usually ukulele artists at the festival) help decide the winners — but the emphasis is on energy, creativity and connection, not technical perfection.

Rehearsing for something real gives your group focus, momentum and a reason to work together.

A proper festival stage
In 2026, the Battle will take place on a larger, more professional stage, designed to showcase ukulele bands at their best.

Costs & Practicalities

• There will be a small entry fee per player

• This is included with a weekend festival pass

• Travel and accommodation are organised by each group

• Full performance details will be shared once interest is confirmed

• Non-professional ukulele groups – anything from a trio to a large uke jam group

• Groups who enjoy performing or travelling together

• Groups looking for something different from their regular routine

You don’t need to be virtuosos — enthusiasm, personality and group spirit matter far more.
